The neighborhood was built during the 1950’s and early 1960’s.  Most of the homes here are Colonial style with at least 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths,  a 1 car garage and a basement.  You can navigate to Country Village by The Northern State Parkway at Exit 40 and North on Route 110 for approximately 1/2 mile.  Street names in this area are Plainwood and Nutwood Road, Kirkwood, Maywood and Logwood Court, Catherwood Crescent, Dalewood and Basswood Place, and Elderwood, Arrowood and Greenwood Lane.  Country Village in Melville New York is located within the top rated Half Hollow Hills School District #5 and students here can attend the Signal Hill Elementary School.   The neighborhood is nearby to the Walt Whitman Mall and major roadways and the Marriott Hilton Hotel.  According to public records, homes in the Country Village area of Melville Long Island had closed sales in 2009 from $450,000 to $547,000.
